A number of Emmerdale fans have reacted negatively as soap bosses issued an update following the latest episode.

Harrowing scenes that aired on Tuesday showed Belle King again being bullied by her husband Tom. As viewers will know, Belle has recently found out she is pregnant.

Unsure what her next steps would be, she didn’t tell Tom, and pretended to be ill to hide what was really going on.

The latest trip to Emmerdale saw a paranoid Tom accuse Belle of “mouthing off” about him selling her car. Tom became more and more angry before he raised his hand to his wife.

Desperate to protect herself and the baby, Belle blurted out that she is pregnant, which left Tom reeling. After the credits rolled, a clip of the scene was shared on Emmerdale’s official Instagram page.

Fans have been quick to respond in the post’s comments section as Kathy said: “God I LOATHE Tom” and Mal said: “Can’t stand this storyline, I don’t know how much more I can watch”. Lisa said: “Get rid of Tom”.
