Emmerdale could see a double exit after tensions rose between two couples on Tuesday night. At Belle Dingle (played by Eden Taylor-Draper) and Tom King’s (James Chase) dinner party, Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) came to blows as they struggled to cover up their marriage troubles.
Viewers also got to see the ITV soap in a different light as it showed both Belle and Rhona’s perspectives as they argued with their husbands. “I don’t think you ever loved me,” Rhona fumed at Marlon as he asked: “When did you get so selfish and childish?”
“Look at me with contempt go on,” the vet went on. “Who are you to judge me? You hate that I didn’t do what Saint Marlon would have done. That you could manipulate or dictate well no more! I am out. You say you wake up and wish I wasn’t there, well from now on I won’t be.”
Tom also ramped up his abusive behaviour as towards the end of the episode, he scolded his wife with boiling water. After everyone left, Tom argued: “You think you’re so clever, don’t you? You lying b***ch.”
As Belle protested her innocence, the vet continued as he pulled out her contraceptive pill from the drawer: “What’s this then? Hiding your pills, stashing them away? Thinking I was trying for a baby when the whole time…stop lying I know you have taken one yesterday and today.”
As Belle sobbed, Tom asked: “Why are you doing this? Why are you messing with my head? You’re so manipulative making me think this is what you wanted.
“You’re unhinged, Belle, you’re crazy…”
As Belle tried to leave, Tom stood in her way and forced her hand under boiling hot water.
“Tom you are burning me,” she screamed for help before he said: “You’re a great wife.”
