EastEnders appears to have revealed who Maya Houssain really is and which past character she is linked to on the BBC soap.
Fans are convinced her true reasons for heading to Walford and targeting Harvey Monroe have been exposed. A scene on Thursday night may have given away her true intentions, and what she is hiding.
Maya has been acting oddly for weeks ever since striking up a friendship with Harvey. With her disappearing and deactivating her social media accounts, she seemed secretive about her life away from Walford.
Maya has also seemed keen to see Harvey, and in the latest episode we saw her asking about his family life. She seemed particularly interested in Harvey’s son, former character Aaron Monroe.
When Harvey went on to explain about Aaron being in prison and touched upon his crime, it was clear Maya was uneasy. She also seemed shocked to learn it was Harvey who had reported his son to the police.
As the chat went on, Maya seemed awkward and claimed she had to leave for a forgotten doctors appointment. Harvey was confused as Maya fled very quickly, just after finding out about Aaron.
We then saw her in the café, proving she had lied about the appointment. Not only that, but she was seen searching Aaron’s name online, and was looking at the articles about his arrest and him being in prison.
Viewers believe the scenes gave away Maya’s intentions, and her possible link to former character Aaron. Amid a theory that Maya is the wife of the taxi driver attacked by Aaron and his friends in a racially motivated assault a few years ago, fans believe this has now been confirmed.
