UNEXPECTED TWIST!! When is Emmerdale, Coronation Street and EastEnders on during the Euros?

Even if you absolutely cannot stand football, you’ll know doubt be aware that the Euros kicked off on Friday 14th June, with hosts Germany taking on Scotland in the opening game of the tournament.

 

 

 

With both BBC and ITV/STV sharing coverage of all 51 matches between 14th June and 14th July, it unfortunately means there are some major TV reshuffling happening, meaning some of the nation’s favourite soaps will be disrupted.

 

 

 

 

To save you manically searching through the TV guide, we’ve found exactly when Emmerdale, Coronation Street and EastEnders are on during the big football tournament.

 

 

 

 

 

When is Emmerdale on TV during the Euros?
Emmerdale usually airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1/STV1 and ITVX/STV Player, with an hour-long episode on Thursday nights, but there are a few changes next week…

Friday 28th June: Emmerdale airs at 7.30pm on ITV1/STV1 and ITVX/STV Player.

Monday 1st July: Emmerdale airs at 8.30pm on ITV1/STV1 and ITVX/STV Player.

Tuesday 2nd July: No Emmerdale, replaced by the football.

Wednesday 3rd July: Emmerdale airs at 7.30pm on ITV1/STV1 and ITVX/STV Player.

Thursday 4th July: Emmerdale airs 7.30pm for one hour on ITV1/STV1 and ITVX/STV Player.

Friday 5th July: Emmerdale airs at 8.30pm on ITV1/STV1 and ITVX/STV Player.

When is EastEnders on TV during the Euros?
The soap usually airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, but there are a few changes to the schedule next week, including a channel change…

Friday 28th June: EastEnders will air at 7.30pm on BBC One and on BBC iPlayer.

Monday 1st July: No episode.

Tuesday 2nd July: No episode

Wednesday 3rd July: EastEnders will air at 7.30pm on BBC Two and on BBC iPlayer.

Thursday 4th July: EastEnders will air at 7.30pm for one hour BBC TWO and on BBC iPlayer.

Following six incredible US versions of reality show Love Is Blind, Netflix bosses confirmed last year that a UK version was in the works, with married couple Emma and Matt Willis as hosts.

The Umbrella Academy
Showrunner Steven Blackman announced that The Umbrella Academy would be getting a fourth and final series. He said: “We’ve got an amazing story ahead for season four, one that will have fans on the edge of their seats until the final minutes.”

It’s now been confirmed the show will begin on 8th August 2024!

Emily In Paris
Oui – we are being gifted with another season of Emily In Paris! With three seasons now streaming on Netflix, fans can expect a fourth season to arrive in 2024. Part one will land on 15th August, with part two arriving on 12th September.

Heartstopper
After production started in 2023, in March 2024, Netflix bosses confirmed the third series of Heartstopper will land on 3rd October this year!

Squid Game
Another roaring Netflix success, Squid Game had us all hooked when it was released in 2021. Breaking records and topping streaming charts, the show proved incredibly popular and after THAT ending, left us all wanting more.

Show creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has confirmed that season two is officially happening, and has even hinted of ‘talks’ over a third season! In January 2024, Netflix bosses confirmed series two will land in 2024.

Stranger Things
Netflix bosses confirmed in January 2023 that the fifth and final series of Stranger Things had officially started production! Despite this, there’s still no word yet on a release date.

The Night Agent
After series one was Netflix’s most-watched show of 2023, bosses were quick to commission The Night Agent for a second series, which is due out in 2024. Although we don’t have an official start date just yet, in February, bosses confirmed production had started!

Celebrity Race Across The World
Following the successful first series in September 2023, BBC bosses recommissioned Celebrity Race Across The World for a second series! Although not many details have been released just yet, filming is expected to take place in early 2024.

Gavin & Stacey
Five years after THAT cliffhanger ending of the last Gavin & Stacey Christmas special, Ruth Jones and James Corden have now confirmed they’ve written another Christmas special for 2024! Sharing the news in May, the pair confirmed the brand new episode will air on Christmas Day.

Outnumbered
BBC bosses confirmed in May that award-winning comedy Outnumbered will return for a brand new Christmas special in 2024! The original cast Hugh Dennis, Claire Skinner, Tyger Drew-Honey, Daniel Roche and Ramona Marquez will all reprise their roles. The special is expected to air on Christmas Day.

Hijack
Following series one back in June 2023, Apple TV bosses have now confirmed Idris Elba will return for a second series of Hijack! No plot or start date has been announced just yet, but reports are rife that production will begin soon.

Unforgotten
Following the tense ending to series five in April 2023, ITV/STV bosses were quick to reveal drama series Unforgotten had been commissioned for a sixth series. Filming started in March 2024, so we imagine the new episodes could land later in the year.

Black Mirror
In March 2024, Netflix bosses revealed a seventh series of Black Mirror will land in 2025, with one of the episodes set to be a sequel to series four episode USS Callister. No official date has been announced just yet.

Gladiators
Following the hugely successful first series, BBC bosses were quick to announce Gladiators had been commissioned for a second series! Although there’s no official start date, it’s understood filming will take place in Summer 2024.
