Rylan Clark has ‘won the internet’ after his epic comeback to an online hater who claimed the presenter built his career by getting on his ‘knees and sucking’.

Alongside the rest of the country, the 35-year-old TV star was overjoyed when the England team secured its spot in the Euro 2024 final against Spain.

The former This Morning host took to X to ask how he could get a coveted ticket to the final which will take place on Sunday, July 14, in Berlin.

He then shared a screenshot of one particularly scathing response from an anonymous troll @mexi

But the Big Brother star remained unphased, posting the shocking interaction with the cheeky caption: ‘If it was that easy mate I’d be managing England…..’ along with the explicit middle finger emoji.

‘Rylan you do make me laugh. You’re a national treasure,’ @AllexmarieHoll1 wrote on X.

‘Expert-level troll-slaying. Bravo,’ @realneilveglio added.

‘I dunno how you manage it! I wouldn’t be able to keep my cool but here you are just brushing it off, absolute class!’ @rahhead01 said.

‘I spat my tea out Rylan! hahahaha,’ @lindacooganbe shared.

The nasty comment is especially pertinent since Rylan released a documentary earlier this year, Rylan: Football, Homophobia and Me, in which the lifelong West Ham fan explored his own ‘complicated’ relationship with the sport and the ongoing fight for LGBTQ+ inclusion.

Despite progress in recent years – with football stars such as Australian Josh Cavallo and Blackpool forward Jake Daniels coming out as gay – there are still no out gay male players in the English Premier League.

‘I understand, if a Premier League player came out tomorrow, it would be on the front newspapers. But what shouldn’t be a big deal is people’s reactions,’ Rylan told the New York Times earlier this year.

He added: ‘The first footballer to do it will have to be brave unfortunately but I’d like to think it wouldn’t be as bad as people make it out to be.

‘If a gay or bisexual player is thinking of coming out, I’d happily be there to offer advice. Football is a game I love and it should be for everyone to enjoy.’

As for Rylan’s actual career, the X Factor alum recently poured cold water over rumours that he would be hitting the Strictly dance floor later this year.

The Celebrity Big Brother winner – who hosted the spin-off show Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two from 2019 to 2023 – said he gets asked to be on the BBC reality series all the time.

He continued: ‘But the answer is no. I wouldn’t do it.

‘It wouldn’t be fair for me to go back and compete. It would be the same as if I went back into Celebrity Big Brother. It wouldn’t be fair.’
