This week, Emmerdale aired some disturbing new twists in the Tom and Belle storyline, confirming that Belle’s ordeal is far from over.
Though Tom is staying with Nicola and Jimmy, he secretly had a key made for himself at Dale Head, and he installed secret cameras in the house so he can keep tabs on his wife. Plus, Tom has used their dog Piper to exert control in cruel scenes.
Amid these new developments, actor James Chase spoke to Digital Spy about how the story will change following the events of the Welsh holiday and said that his character needs to pay for his crimes.
He said: “From this point, their relationship does change – for the better for her, of course. There’s still more to be told. I agree that obviously Tom needs to be found guilty for this and Belle needs some sort of justice.
“She can’t just break up with him and get away from him – there needs to be more done, because otherwise who’s to say he wouldn’t just do this to his next partner?”
Preparations for this year’s Inside Soap Awards are in full swing, and recently Digital Spy was lucky enough to be invited to the photoshoot for the Emmerdale nominees in Leeds.

Coronation Street’s Joel has fooled everyone for a long while now, but Dee-Dee has now begun to put the puzzle pieces together. This week, she finds out that he lied about buying a charm bracelet for his daughter Maeve, and looks for evidence that he is having an affair.
Now new spoilers have revealed that next week will see Dee-Dee make an even bigger discovery about her husband-to-be, when she finds a link between him and Lauren Bolton relating to Belfast that makes her suspicious. Will she finally discover the truth?
“A lot of people find themselves in situations where they’ve been deceived and we’ve got to do them justice by not having them seem like a rose-tinted glasses type of person,” said actor Channique Sterling-Brown.
