It is officially the first day of September, which marks a big month for all the soaps – with plenty of explosive episodes coming up. To preview all the drama to come, this week EastEnders, Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks have all released huge new trailers to get soap fans excited.
As well as this, there’s another special episode coming up in Emmerdale’s Belle and Tom story, while Hollyoaks has aired an emotional exit for a major character.

Tom and Belle King’s domestic abuse storyline has had soap viewers gripped for months now, and the show has broken away from its usual format several times to tell this important story in new and creative ways.
The next of these special episodes is set to air on Thursday (September 5), which will involve several ‘alternate realities’ of Belle’s future. As Tom warns her that he will never let her go, viewers will see three potential futures for the couple as Belle imagines what might be to come.
Producer Sophie Roper said: “In this stylised episode we explore Belle’s worst fears and see the true extent of the impact her abusive relationship with Tom has had on her. If one person seeks help for a situation they are in because of seeing Belle’s plight it will be an achievement.”
This week Emmerdale released a dramatic trailer that gives viewers a first look at the barn fire that will cause chaos in the village later this month.
Earlier this year, paparazzi photos showed someone being carried out of the blaze, but now the soap has provided more details about the traumatic event.
Moira’s behaviour will continue to concern Cain, and Caleb will reveal that he spotted her and Nate kissing – a revelation that could wreck Nate and Tracy’s fresh start. Meanwhile, Tom will continue to manipulate Belle and both characters appear to be in danger.
The tense clip shows Moira aiming a shotgun at someone, with Ruby left unconscious as the barn becomes engulfed in flames and Cain tries to save his wife. Will everyone survive this horrific fire?
Corrie is also previewing what is to come this month, with a brand new trailer showing that time is running out for some of the soap’s most beloved characters.
Evil Joel’s crimes have recently been discovered by Dee-Dee and DS Lisa Swain, but he will continue his schemes in the coming weeks, while the pair struggle to gather concrete evidence against him. Will Joel finally get his comeuppance?
Meanwhile, Paul’s tragic motor neurone disease storyline is coming to a heartbreaking end, and when he’s suddenly rushed to hospital, it is a race against time for Billy to get to say goodbye to his husband.
Plus, Nick and Toyah try to keep their affair hidden from Leanne – but judging by that slap in the trailer, we’re guessing that the truth will come out soon…
