The two characters are unable to resist temptation after becoming embroiled in a heated row over the church’s harvest festival plans.
The new story begins when Laurel meets up with Charles, his mum Claudette and his estranged partner Manpreet Sharma to discuss the important occasion.
Laurel pitches various suggestions, but Charles and Claudette are both unimpressed. They fear that Laurel’s ideas are too modern for a church setting and urge her to scale things back.
Tension flares up as Laurel is unwilling to back down from her ideas, feeling confident after her own strong links to the church over the years.
Charles’ frustration grows when Laurel decides to go ahead with her original plans without bothering to consult him.
Their mutual animosity takes an unexpected turn at Woodbine Cottage as they end up kissing and rush upstairs.
Meanwhile, Manpreet and her former stepson Jai are oblivious to what’s happening as they chat about their recent romantic setbacks.
Manpreet encourages Jai to tell Laurel that he still has feelings for her following their acrimonious split.
Feeling deep down that she should be taking her own advice, Manpreet considers taking a similar direct approach with Charles.
When Manpreet turns up at Woodbine, ready to declare her feelings for Charles, will she get much more than she’d bargained for?
