After Kim discovered that Caleb and Nicky (Lewis Cope) had been secretly plotting against her when they first arrived in the village, it
seemed she let Caleb get off lightly. Not only was he allowed to live, he was even allowed to stay in the village, and to be accepted into the Dingle family.
This seemed like very un-Kim-like lenience, but now it looks like the queen of Home Farm was just biding her time. As the saying goes – ‘Revenge is a dish best served cold.’
When Caleb’s estranged wife Ruby (Beth Cordingly) arrived in the Dales and proved to be not quite as estranged as Caleb had led everyone to believe, she wasted no time in seeking out Kim.
Ruby has her own agenda, which is to get Caleb away from the village and Tracy and the Dingles and she quickly spotted that Kim could be a useful ally.
In upcoming episodes, Caleb is clearly hiding something when Nate (Jurell Carter) says he wants to exercise his rights as a partner in Caleb’s car firm and Caleb is evasive about producing the accounts for him to look at.
Ruby spots that he’s hiding something and persuades Caleb to take her into his confidence.
