Emmerdale fans are buzzing with speculation that Laurel Thomas might be headed for an unexpected pregnancy plot twist.

Charlotte Bellamy, who’s been portraying the beloved character since 2002, has certainly had her fair share of intense storylines in the show. Laurel’s recent times have been particularly tumultuous.

Indeed, she’s had a rollercoaster few months in the Dales, including battling a heart attack and facing the collapse of her marriage to Jai Sharma (played by Chris Bisson).

Fed up with Jai’s deceit, Laurel put her foot down and demanded a divorce, but Jai’s putting up a fight to make things difficult. However, it looks like Laurel is wasting no time moving on this week.

Laurel’s been busy organising the village harvest festival with vicar Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin), and despite some stumbles primarily caused by his mum Claudette (Flo Wilson), Laurel pressed forward with her festive plans, leaving Charles less than thrilled, reports Leeds Live.

But after clashing at Charles place, their spat unexpectedly turned steamy. The pair shared a passionate kiss which escalated quickly to the bedroom, shocking viewers across the nation.

Fans have been left agog, with one tweeting about the Laurel and Charles scandal: “Laurel and Charles noooo. I am never going to get that vision from my head now,” while another posted: “Wth Laurel and Charles? ! .”

One fan took to social media to say “Charles and Laurel. That was one moment when I was hoping his mother would walk in on them so we wouldn’t have to witness them grabbing one another.”

Yet, some other Emmerdale enthusiasts are buzzin’ with speculation that the show might be setting Laurel up for an unexpected baby bombshell. Sharing their thoughts on an Emmerdale Facebook group, a fan speculated, “Laurel will probably be pregnant in a couple months.”

Another chimed in with, “Yes, I can see it too.”

And another added their two pence, stating, “I’m calling it now, Laurel ends up pregnant and she doesn’t know who the dad is. Probably be Charles’.”
