The cast from all major shows gathered for the Inside Soap Awards, where they spilled plenty of gossip on the red carpet. If you missed any of the big news, we’ve got you covered with our Sunday roundup of the hottest stories.

In *Emmerdale*, viewers are on the edge of their seats as Tom’s comeuppance appears to be drawing near. The villain has been hiding a tablet that holds undeniable proof of his secret surveillance of Belle, using hidden cameras. As the police close in, Tom embarks on a frantic mission to retrieve the device. Spoilers for the upcoming week reveal that Tom does manage to get the tablet back, only to proceed to destroy it, believing he’s alone in The King’s House. However, he’s unaware that Jimmy’s young son, Carl, is watching him from a distance. This could spell trouble for Tom if Carl chooses to confide in Nicky, who’s already starting to have doubts about Tom’s integrity. Additionally, a rift is brewing between Jimmy and Nicky, as they clash over Tom’s actions.

Meanwhile, *Coronation Street* star Emmett Cooper addressed his highly-anticipated return as the ruthless cult leader Rowan. After a period of low visibility following his arrest for blackmail and fraud, Rowan is back filming new scenes. Emmett hinted at more twists to come, suggesting that Rowan’s naughty business is far from over, so fans should stay tuned!

In *EastEnders*, a significant casting announcement has been made: Teddy Mitchell’s ex-wife, Nia, is set to make her debut, portrayed by Laura Doddington, known for her roles in *Doctors*, *Hollyoaks*, and *The Midwich Cuckoos*. Nia is set to storm into Walford uninvited later this autumn, shocking Teddy, who is trying to maintain harmony with his family. Laura described Nia as a complex character, comparing her arrival to a “Tasmanian devil.” She’s unapologetically herself, and Laura feels grateful to have the Mitchell family actors embracing her as part of their on-screen family.

Dame Maureen Lipman, also at the Inside Soap Awards, spoke about her upcoming break from *Coronation Street*. She reassured fans that the door is open for her return, stating she won’t be killed off or dramatically written out. Instead, she’ll step back, leaving the door ajar for a future comeback, as she expressed her attachment to her character, Evelyn.

In *Emmerdale*, Mary’s character, played by Louise Jameson, may soon see more screen time as a new family-oriented storyline is set to unfold. Louise revealed that November will be packed with drama, hinting at an intense family narrative that could extend throughout the year, although she couldn’t divulge more details.

The Dingles have finally grasped the extent of Tom’s treachery, yet his violent assault on Vinnie remains a secret. We caught up with Lisa Riley, who plays Mandy, Vinnie’s mother, at the awards. She was eager to share more but refrained from revealing spoilers. However, she teased that the truth about Tom’s actions will eventually come to light, and it remains to be seen how Vinnie’s situation will unfold.

Over in *Hollyoaks*, the absence of James Nightingale continues to loom large. Upcoming episodes will depict his husband, Ste, grappling with the belief that James is still alive. Kieran Richardson, who portrays Ste, shared that his character experiences a sort of psychosis, unable to accept James’s fate. There are hints that someone may be manipulating Ste’s perception, leading to a deeper mystery.

With so much unfolding across these beloved soaps, fans can expect plenty of heartbreak, shocking revelations, and gripping twists in the weeks to come! Stay tuned for all the latest updates and developments!
