Yesterday, Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) arrived at Wishing Well and waited for Amelia (Daisy Campbell). Belle believed that Amelia wanted to talk to her about Tom before they went to the police station to report him, but that sadly never happened.
When Tom arrived instead of Amelia, he set about confronting Belle. Once again, he tried to blame Belle for everything that happened, and also tried his luck by saying what they had gone through was just marital problems.
Fortunately, Belle is a lot stronger now than what she was a few months ago. Whenever Tom said something, she stood up for herself in the response. Ultimately, this left Tom a very angry man and during a horrific moment, he took to pushing Belle and beating her.
Belle escaped Wishing Well because she found Sam’s (James Hooton) gun and pointed it at Tom. When she arrived outside though, the panicked Dingle was forced to race through fields and paths as she was chased by Tom.
Belle trapped herself a flat next to the house but even then, it wasn’t enough. Tom smashed some of the wooden panels with an axe and was able to get inside.
Tom got his hands on the gun and pointed it at Belle. Just as he turned around though to admire the weapon in a mirror, Belle grabbed the axe and threw it into Tom’s back.
Taking to social media platform X, fans of the ITV soap had a lot to say about these final scenes. For most people though, they couldn’t help express their frustration surrounding the plot twist if Tom was to die, and Belle has to live with knowing she killed him.
‘Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad Belle has axed him but I wanted Tom to get full Dingle justice. If he’s dead now he hasn’t suffered enough’, one audience member wrote.
The Tom King story is expected to continue until Christmas, with Emmerdale bosses having told Metro that it will conclude at the end of the year.
‘We said right from the beginning that we wanted to tell this story as authentically and truthfully as we can’, producer Laura Shaw told us in July.
