Beth’s character Ruby Fox-Miligan will take centre stage in dramatic episodes later this year as a fire leaves lives hanging in the balance.
Last month, Emmerdale’s cast and crew were pictured by paparazzi photographers as they shot scenes which appeared to involve a burning barn.
Cain Dingle was seen rushing to the rescue in scenes involving his wife Moira and sister-in-law Ruby.
Beth recently caught up with Digital Spy while taking part in Emmerdale’s official nominees photoshoot for the Inside Soap Awards 2024.
We joined the cast in Leeds as they posed for their glamorous photos. The pictures can be seen in the new issue of Inside Soap, while Digital Spy’s behind-the-scenes video can be watched in full at the top of this page.
Speaking about Ruby’s future, Beth told us: “I’m having a fantastic time and there’s loads of lovely stuff that my character’s involved in. We did film some very dramatic scenes recently, which involved crazy amounts of make-up!
“There was some shocking danger and ‘will they be okay?’ type of scenes. It was great to be involved in – and different to the stuff that we shoot every day in the studio. It was nice to be out on location.”
Recent scenes saw Ruby’s husband Caleb take her out to a mysterious warehouse, explaining that he wants to launch their own business empire.
After more than one failed attempt to take revenge against their enemy, cunning Caleb suggested that rivalling Kim in the business world could be the best way of stirring up trouble.
Discussing Ruby’s reaction, Beth continued: “She’s always on his side if he’s doing something. She’s so loyal to him. She’s behind whatever he’s plotting against Kim, because they’re arch-enemies. Obviously Ruby’s had her fair share of meddling with Kim.
“So she’s behind that. Her attitude towards things may change in the future, to do with how she feels about life, but I can’t say more than that!
“I’m really thrilled about the stuff I’ve got coming up. The scripts that are coming out for my character at the moment are fantastic.
“I feel really privileged to be doing the kind of things I’m doing. I love the way the writers write for my character. I’m really excited because she’s got some big stuff coming up.”
Beth has been nominated for the Best Villain and Best Newcomer prizes at the Inside Soap Awards 2024 and told us that she feels “really honoured” over the nods.
Giving her pitch for Emmerdale in the Best Soap category, she continued: “I think Emmerdale’s a fantastic show. Obviously I see it from the inside – I think we’ve got some really talented actors, the crew are fantastic.
“It really is a show where everybody works together. So that’s glorious to be part of, but I also think the writing team and the storyliners are really strong.
“I was on a train today and a couple of women started talking to me. They didn’t know I was on Emmerdale, but when they found out, one of them said that she’d seen some stuff about the Tom and Belle storyline and switched on to watch the episode.
