Emmerdale won’t air tonight as ITV changes schedule for Women’s Euros qualifiers

Emmerdale fans will have to wait a day longer before they can get their fix of the ITV soap, with tonight’s offerings being knocked off the schedule due to the Women’s Euro 2025 qualifiers.

Soap fans have been getting used to these schedule changes over the last month, with Emmerdale, Coronation Street and EastEnders forced to air on different nights – or not at all – to make way for the Euro 2024 tournament.

During this week’s Emmerdale, Samson plans to flee the village and escape justice with help from dad Sam after telling his parents the truth about his stabbing – but Lydia is against it.

She intercepts Sam and Samson’s secret meeting and implores Samson to come clean to the police, who finally tells officers what really happened to innocent Maddy.

Elsewhere, Tom continues to make Belle feel guilty about the termination, and secretly makes plans to put distance between them and Belle’s family.

Tom’s abuse of Belle will intensify in the coming weeks, with Emmerdale recently announcing a single-strand episode, focused on its domestic abuse storyline, in which viewers will see Tom putting Belle and their dog Piper through physical and emotional torture.

Speaking exclusively at the RadioTimes.com Soap Awards 2024 sponsored by Inspired Villages, actor James Chase admitted that there is no barrier to stop Tom so long as he doesn’t get caught out.

“I think with Tom, unless there’s like an absolutely brick wall that’s laid before him, I think there’s no barrier that’s going to stop him from doing what he’s doing,” Chase explained.

“The bar is going to probably keep rising as to what he will do. I think he will do relatively anything to get control over her.”
