Emmerdale’s Charles Anderson demands answers next week after realising that the Miligan family may be keeping secrets about Ethan’s hit and run.
Charles is determined to resolve the mystery after hearing that the police have dropped the official investigation into the recent attack on Ethan.
Last month, Ethan was knocked over by Ruby Fox-Miligan as she wanted revenge for her son Nicky’s car crash.
Ethan died a few days later, although a coroner has ruled
Next week, Charles drowns his sorrows at The Woolpack. When Charity Dingle points out that Charles probably won’t want to return home to a place that reminds him of Ethan, Caleb steps in and gives him somewhere to stay for the night.
Charles thanks Caleb for his kind hospitality the next morning. However, Charles’ visit takes an intriguing turn when he spots a potentially incriminating invoice and secretly pockets it.
Later that day, Charles insists on giving Caleb a lift into Hotten. Caleb is uneasy when Charles mysteriously stops the vehicle and walks off into the woods.
Caleb reluctantly follows, listening with sympathy as Charles reminisces about Ethan.
The vicar’s expression hardens as he produces the invoice, which he believes confirms Caleb’s involvement in the hit and run.
Caleb is frozen with fear, wondering how he can get out of this mess without exposing Ruby’s guilt. What will he do?
Emmerdale airs these scenes in the week commencing Monday, July 1.
