Emmerdale viewers are convinced Tom King (James Chase) is about to get his comeuppance after tormenting his wife for months. The ITV soap is set to air a dramatic scene this week that hints at the downfallof the ‘evil’ character.

In recent episodes, Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) has been left terrified of her husband Tom as the soap takes on a coercive control plot. Tom has not only been isolating and manipulating Belle but he has also become violent.

This sparked fear in Belle who wasn’t yet ready to have a child and terminated her pregnancy in secret so Tom couldn’t force her to keep the baby.

In an emotional scene, Belle told Tom that she had a miscarriage and he was instantly thrown into denial and claimed the hospital had ‘got it wrong’. Belle went into details of her ‘ordeal’ as she confirmed she was no longer pregnant.

However, in upcoming scenes, Tom will find out that Belle secretly visited the abortion clinic, and in his angry state, he trashes a nearby barn. But he takes things too far and electrocutes himself, before losing consciousness.

Meanwhile, Belle doesn’t keep her secret to herself for too long as a new teaser clip reveals the moment she admits the truth to someone, before making a realisation about her marriage.

The person in question is Belle’s Mental Health Care Coordinator Rachel, and what she hears from Belle leaves her concerned. Viewers will see Rachel appear to cotton on to Tom’s behaviour, advising Belle to take some time away from the village.

Prior to this, a scene shows the moment Belle avoids Rachel after her sudden visit. After trying to drop the conversation, she ends up confessing to her that she had a termination, and did not suffer a miscarriage.

It’s this confession that will lead Rachel to be concerned for Belle, and with her soon uncovering Tom’s manipulative behaviour.
