Since his return to the eponymous ITV Dales, Aaron has been ruffling feathers and his uncle Cain Dingle (portrayed by Jeff Hordley) had enough.
After hatching an elaborate car-stealing scheme with Mackenzie Boyd who reluctantly allowed himself to be dragged into the plot, Aaron (Danny Miller) got on Cain’s bad side.
Tensions boiled up and, soon enough, Cain and Aaron threw punches, only for the brawl to end terribly for the village stalwart.
Coming up next week, Cain is left in a coma and his wife Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb) remains by his bedside.
She is relieved when he finally awakes in upcoming scenes.
Meanwhile, Chas Dingle’s (Lucy Pargeter) contempt is clear when Aaron asks her about Cain’s condition.
Mack (Lawrence Robb), on the other hand, can’t even look at Aaron and he tells him he deserves everything coming his way.
The doctor finishes examining Cain and gives advice to stay in bed but the tough man decides to go.
Doctor Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) is shocked to hear Cain discharged himself – but could he try to talk some sense into his pal?
Later on, as the family rally behind Cain, an isolated Aaron ponders his next move as it dawns on him that he is definitely an outsider.
The following day, Moira frets as Cain takes more painkillers, but is frustrated when he slams out.
Returning, Moira’s shocked when Cain finally opens up and reveals what has been troubling him.
Could Cain be keeping a huge health scare secret, much like his sister Chas Dingle?
Regular viewers of the Yorkshire-based program will remember that Chas is facing her own breast cancer ordeal, less than two years after the death of her mother Faith.
Cain was present when Faith drew her last breath in October, 2022, as she decided to end her life on her own terms when she was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer.
Both him and Faith had a complicated relationship prior to her death and the duo finally built back bridges when she was at death’s door.
Could Cain be haunted by memories as his family is torn apart because of Aaron?
