It’s been a harrowing few weeks for Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) and Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) following baby Evan’s leukaemia diagnosis. It’s tested them as a couple, and it’s tested them as a family.
The baby was diagnosed after a terrified Dawn discovered he was covered in bruises. Once the doctor revealed the diagnosis, they were told Evan needed to start treatment immediately, and Dawn chose to spend the time in the hospital by his side
.
This put huge strain on her and Billy, as she became resentful that he was able to leave the hospital and return to normal life, while he resented her for being able to remain with Evan while he had to return home and keep their family together.
But there have been other bumps in the road – such as Dawn wanting to make the ‘pain go away’, leaving Will (Dean Andrews) fearful she was planning on turning back to drugs. Enter her birth mum Rose (Christine Tremeco), who ham-fistedly tried to help by offering recovering addict Dawn sleeping pills.
Of course we know Rose isn’t really there to help, her mission is to bed Will and destroy Kim’s (Claire King) life on behalf of Ruby (Beth Cordingly). So that’s another bit of bad news heading Dawn’s way at some point.
