Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) has been betrayed by Caleb Miligan (William Ash) and forgiven him umpteen times in Emmerdale. But it only ever takes one thing to finally make a person snap, and Ruby is about to have her buckeroo moment.
Ruby is in a bit of a weird emotional state because her estranged mum has died, and she has no idea how to feel.
It’s the woman who kicked her out and left her to fend for herself with no family or means, and yet Ruby can’t help but feel some level of regret at not having a final word with her mother.
Little does she know, her mum had tried to reach out in the lead up to her death.
Helen had got hold of Caleb, who refused to put her in touch with her daughter after all of the hurt she’d caused. But after some pushing, he’d made a deal; if she paid him 100 grand, he’d get the two women in a room together.
Both fortunately and unfortunately for Caleb, Helen made the transaction, but passed before he could alert Ruby to what was going on.
He pocketed the money and kept quiet, even when Ruby began drowning her sorrows over the fact that her mum seemingly couldn’t even bear one last word with her.
Now she’s in charge of sorting her late mum’s estate, which feels like the final painful blow for Ruby.
