Ethan – played by actor Emile John – was knocked over by Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) in a hit and run last month.
Although he initially appeared to be recovering from his injuries, the character collapsed and abruptly passed away.
The hit and run was an act of revenge following Ethan being involved in a car accident while Ruby’s son Nicky (Lewis Cope) was his passenger.
To fans’ surprise, Ethan fled the scene of the collision and left Nicky to die.
Spoilers for next week suggest there are even more tough times ahead for Ethan’s grieving father Charles (Kevin Mathurin) and his partner Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker).
In scenes yet to air, Bob (Tony Audenshaw) is saddened to see Manpreet bringing an overnight bag into the B&B.
Meanwhile, Charles’ mother Claudette encourages the GP to fight for her relationship.
Earlier this year, vicar Charles was left distraught after overhearing Manpreet apologise for kissing Billy (Jay Kontzle), having developed a crush on him.
Meanwhile, the spoilers also suggest drama for Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Moira (Natalie J. Robb).
It comes as Moira’s son Matty (Ash Palmisciano) has been sent to prison until his case is heard for the stabbing of Samson Dingle (Sam Hall).
Aware that Josh (Osian Morgan) is the true instigator, Cain begs his nephew Samson not to let Matty rot in jail.
As a plan to save Matty forms, Moira follows Samson to the Woolpack toilets full of dark intent…
Later, Cain tries to warn his wife about messing up Matty’s case but Moira doesn’t want to hear it and emasculates Cain at the dinner table.
The next day, although Moira regrets the previous night’s tirade, Cain reminds her of the cruel words she called him.
Later, a drunken Cain returns to Butlers and things spiral out of control.
Moira is left shaken, her marriage and her life falling apart.
